The Dallas Cowboys added some juice to their running game today with the signing of former Baylor standout Lache Seastrunk. A 2014 sixth-round pick of the Redskins, Seastrunk failed to make the team during training camp. He’s had brief stints on both the Panthers and Titans practice squads before being released from Tennessee on May 18th.
The Cowboys lost Demarco Murray in free agency and didn’t draft a running back to replace him. Their only notable transaction to address the position was the signing of Darren McFadden, who joins a running back group that includes Joseph Randle, Lance Dunbar and Ryan Williams.
If Seastrunk is going to make it in the NFL, it will be as a Cowboy. The depth chart isn’t stacked with top-tier running back talent and the offensive line is the best in the League. Seastrunk was rated as the fourth-best running back in the 2014 class by FRG.
