NFL Draft 2013: Mock Draft, Version FINAL

Below is FRG Scouting’s final Mock Draft.  We decided to approach this mock with blinders on.  Most mock drafts are based on the news and notes that are reported by insiders and beat writers.

Not this one.

FRG Scouting’s final Mock Draft is based strictly off of our Big Board.  It’s a first round projection according to how we view the talent and where we think they SHOULD go, not necessarily where the WILL go.

Take a look.  Tear it up.  We’re fully expecting some shock and maybe some awe.  At the end of the day, we hope you enjoy our take on what the first round should look like:

2013 NFL Draft: Mock Draft, Version 4.0

Below is the first Mock Draft since the start of free agency.  Take a read, and I welcome all comments! What’s the point of having a mock draft if it isn’t torn apart, right? Feel free to share, too! And with the first pick in the 2013 NFL Draft, the Kansas City Chiefs select…

Mock Draft, Version 3.0

If you follow me on twitter (@FirstRoundGrade), you know that I was very reluctant to put together a Mock Draft until after the NFL Free Agency signing period commenced. It’s difficult for any Draft analyst to project who a team will select when we don’t even know what their roster will look like in April. But after many requests for an updated Mock, I decided to give it a whirl.

Take a read and I welcome all comments, positive, negative, and downright brutal! What’s the point of having a mock draft if it isn’t torn apart, right? Feel free to share, too! And with the first pick in the 2013 NFL Draft, the Kansas City Chiefs select…

Mock Draft, Version 2.0

Our first mock draft was published a few weeks ago and featured Geno Smith (QB, WVU) as the first pick in the Draft. And while Smith’s stock has seemingly cooled a bit, he’s still FRG’s choice for Kansas City at the top spot in 2013. Things are certain to change between now and April, but it appears as if many of the teams vying for the #1 pick are all QB-needy. Geno has to be a happy guy right now. FRG projects only one other QB, Tyler Wilson (Ark), to go in the first round. In fact, there’s only a handful of offensive skill players in the top-32!

Mock Draft, Version 1.0

One of the most useful exercises a Draft analyst can perform when organizing their Big Board or other Draft-related materials is to conduct a Mock Draft.  It should be emphasized that Mock Drafts are fluid and can change just as quickly as a player’s stock can rise or fall with a bad game, sub-par workout, or off-field issue.  With that said, it’s very helpful to try and identify what the landscape of the first-round (or more) will be as we progress toward April, 2013.  Below is the first ever FRG Mock Draft.  It’s obviously subject to change, and it’s far from my final thoughts about who will ultimately be a first-round player come April.  Much more film review needs to be conducted by EVERYONE who is putting out a mock draft at this time of year.

Let’s take a look at how the first-round could shake out if the Draft was being held this weekend:
